6.4 Heating System
PILOT IGNITION

TEMPERATURE Control Indi-
cator Lamp Does Not Come
On When Dial is Turned to ON
1. Switch may have a loose
connection or is bad.
• Inspect/replace the TEMPERATURE
control.
2. Indicator lamp may be bad. • Inspect/replace the lamp.
Pilot Ignition Irregular or
Absent
1. Pilot burner assembly is
dirty.
• Clean. Refer to Check and Clean Pilot
Assembly on page 4-18.
2. Line voltage to the unit and/
or to the ignition control
may be too low.
• Line voltage to the unit must be within
+5% to -10% of the voltage on the
nameplate.
• Voltage to the ignition control may be
too low. Check the voltage at terminal It
must be within +5% to -10% of 24 V.
- Check for fluctuating or incorrect in-
coming voltage. Check power require-
ments on the unit nameplate.
3. Ignition electrode wire is
loose or broken or gap is
incorrect.
• Check. Refer to Check and Clean Pilot
Assembly on page 4-18.
4. Ignition control is not send-
ing a proper spark signal.
• Check/replace ignition control as neces-
sary.
5. Pilot gas orice is dirty.
• Clean. Refer to Check and Clean Pilot
Assembly on page 4-18.
