IMPORTANT: Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Sensitive Electronics
ESD problems are present everywhere. Most people begin to feel an ESD discharge at
approximately 3000V. It takes as little as 10V to destroy, damage, or weaken the main control
assembly. The new main control assembly may appear to work well after repair is finished,
but a malfunction may occur at a later date due to ESD stress.
Use an anti-static wrist strap. Connect wrist strap to green ground connection point or
unpainted metal in the appliance
-OR-
Touch your finger repeatedly to a green ground connection point or unpainted metal
in the appliance.
Before removing the part from its package, touch the anti-static bag to a green ground
connection point or unpainted metal in the appliance.
Avoid touching electronic parts or terminal contacts; handle electronic control assembly
by edges only.
When repackaging main control assembly in anti-static bag, observe above instructions.
Voltage Measurement Safety Information
When performing live voltage measurements, you must do the following:
Verify the controls are in the off position so that the appliance does not start when energized.
Allow enough space to perform the voltage measurements without obstructions.
Keep other people a safe distance away from the appliance to prevent potential injury.
Always use the proper testing equipment.
After voltage measurements, always disconnect power before servicing.

Why are my wash or rinse temperatures wrong in my Maytag Washer?
    • J
      jesusonealSep 8, 2025
If the wash or rinse temperatures are incorrect in your Maytag Washer, first ensure that the hot and cold inlet hoses are not reversed and that both hoses are attached to the washer and faucet, allowing hot and cold water to flow to the inlet valve. Check that the inlet valve screens are not clogged and that there are no kinks in the hoses. This washer uses cooler wash and rinse water temperatures than your previous washer, including cooler hot and warm washes.

Why is my load not rinsed in Maytag Washer?
    • M
      Michelle ThomasSep 10, 2025
If your load isn't rinsing properly in your Maytag Washer, check that the hot and cold inlet hoses aren't reversed and that both hoses are connected with water flowing to the inlet valve. Make sure both hot and cold water faucets are turned on. Inspect the inlet valve screens for clogs and remove any kinks in the inlet hose. Using too much detergent can also prevent proper rinsing, so always measure detergent and follow directions based on load size and soil level.

Why is there sand, pet hair, or lint on my load after washing in Maytag ?
    • M
      Margaret DavisSep 12, 2025
If you find sand, pet hair, lint, etc. on your load after washing with your Maytag Washer, it might be due to heavy residues. Try adding an Extra Rinse to the selected cycle to help remove these residues.
