Reel Disk from McFarlane Mfg. 10 800-627-8569
NOTICE
In high residue situations, maximum down pressure on
the disks is required to more completely cut the residue.
In creating the maximum down pressure, make sure the
C-spring stops do not constantly contact the frame, as this
will cause equipment damage.
Reversible scrapers are two-way adjustable to maintain
optimum disk blade performance.
Disk Gang Gauge Wheels
The gauge wheels aid in limiting the depth of the wing.
They also prevent the wing from diving into the soil when
encountering uneven terrain, such as a ditch.
Gauge wheels should be adjusted to carry some of the
wings weight, but not enough to prevent the wing from
reaching the depth of the main frame components.
Gauge wheels should be adjusted so that in the static
position, with implement in the lowered position, the
gauge wheels will rotate slightly with a slight kick. During
operation, the gauge wheels should be observed to have
some side to side “castering” motion.
Center Section Wavy and Covering Disks (2)
The wavy coulter disk and left and right covering disks,
located at the center of the reel disk and just behind the
disk gangs, is used to atten the center ridge produced
by the left and right-hand disk gangs.
