• Take o the milk canister and place a vessel under the milk sho-
wer.
• Turn the rotary switch for the milk shower (Fig. A, no. 11) clock-
wise to open the milk shower.
→ The symbol for the milk shower is ashing. Water runs into the
vessel under the milk shower.
• When water is no longer owing out of the outlet and the symbol
for the milk shower is illuminated, turn the rotary switch for the
milk shower anti-clockwise to close the milk shower.
→ Subsequently, the standby symbol and bean symbols will be
illuminated. The appliance is ready for operation and water hardness
is automatically set to hardness level 1.

extended period of time. We therefore recommend storing the

water lter in the refrigerator in a glass of water
when the appliance will not be in use for extended periods.
– After inserting the Melitta
®
Claris

water lter, excess active
charcoal will be washed out of the lter the rst time the ap-
pliance is rinsed out. This can cause the rinse water to appear
slightly grey in colour. The water will clear again subsequently.
