4 Add the descaling powder to a separate vessel with 0.5 l hot water. Stir in
the descaling powder (e.g. with a long spoon).
Warning!
The descaling agent can cause skin irritations
Comply with the safety instructions and the dosing information specified
on the descaling agent packaging.
5 As soon as the descaling powder is completely dissolved, pour the descal-
ing agent into water reservoir.
6 Re-insert the water reservoir.
7 Press the button for steam dispensing
to start the integrated cleaning
programme.

Phase 2
During Phase 2, two bean symbols
are shown on the display.
The Integrated Descaling programme will start. Water flows inside the appli- →
ance into the drip tray in multiple intervals. This stage lasts approximately 15
minutes. Subsequently the symbol for the valve
will be illuminated.
8 Ensure that the coffee grounds container is placed under the steam pipe.
9 Turn the valve switch (Fig. A, no. 11) clockwise to open the valve.
Water will flow intermittently out of the steam pipe into the coffee grounds →
container. The symbol for the valve flashes during this process. Subse-
quently, the symbol for the drip tray will be illuminated.
10 Leave the valve open.
11 Empty the coffee grounds container and the drip tray and then re-insert
the drip tray. Place the coffee grounds container back under the steam
pipe.
The symbol for the water reservoir → is illuminated.
12 Rinse out the water reservoir and fill it with tap water to the Max. marking.
