To adjust the exhaust damper, use a
flashlight to look into the convection air
cavity and note the damper position
indicator. Hook glass latch tool in the
hole at the end of the damper rod, pull
outward about ⅛” and turn clockwise to
close the vent damper, release. Use a
flashlight to inspect the damper
position. The base of the damper adjustment rod has a pointer that indicates the position of the damper.

Issue:
A change in flame
appearance or
burner operation
Possible Cause:
A. A change in gas
pressure
B. Vent system restricted
C. Leaking glass gasket
Corrective Action:
Have your gas supplier check for correct gas (7" WC Nat. Gas; 11" WC
LP gas). Clean out carbon, spider webs, lint, etc. from shutter area.
Logs and burner. Check vent cap’s air intake and exhaust outlet ports.
Check glass gasket for proper seal. Corners of glass gaskets cannot
be bulging out. If glass gasket along top edge in the middle is white
in color across entire thickness of gasket bulb, replace glass gasket.
