c. Install the new O‑ring and retained bowl assembly onto the new fuel filter by turning clockwise until snug.
d. Install the fire sleeve into its original position, unfolding it up and over the bowl interface.

CAUTION
When servicing the fuel filter, ensure that the factory‑installed fire sleeve is reinstalled and kept in its original position. This
sleeve protects the filter, cap, and water‑in‑fuel sensor.
e. Lubricate the new fuel filter gasket with oil.

f. Align the new filter assembly to the mounting head and hand‑turn the fuel filter assembly clockwise until the gasket
contacts the head. Tighten the filter assembly an additional 3/4 of a turn. Do not use tools when installing the new
filter.
IMPORTANT: Do not fill up the new filter before fitting it to the mounting bracket; this could cause harmful impurities
to enter the injection system.
10. Connect the WIF sensor at the 3‑pin connector.

c - Bowl O‑ring—new
d - Fire sleeve—retained
e - Fuel filter gasket—new
f - WIF sensor 3‑pin connector
11. Prime the fuel filter as follows:
a. Use a 1/2 in. wrench to remove the vent plug from the top of the mounting head.
b. Prime the filter by pressing the button on the hand primer pump until an air‑free stream of fuel flows from the vent
port.
c. Ensure the vent plug and port are free of debris. Install the vent plug into the port and tighten to the specified torque.
