•Releasethekeyimmediatelyaftertheengineisstarted,
theignitionswitchwillreturntopositionON/RUN
automatically.
Note:WhentheignitionswitchisinpositionOFF,ifthe
driversidedoorisopened,anaudiblewarningsounds
toindicatethatthekeyisnotremoved.
Note:Whenthesteeringwheelislockedandthekey
cannotbeturnedfrompositionOFFtopositionACC,
pleaseturnthesteeringwheelslightlywhilstturning
thekeytounlockthesteeringwheel.
StartingtheEngine
Neverstartorleavetheenginerunningin
anunventilatedbuilding.Exhaustgasesare
poisonousandcontaincarbonmonoxide,
whichcancauseunconsciousnessandmay
evenbefatal.
Catalyticconvertersandparticulatelters
canbedamagedifthewrongfuelisused,or
ifanenginemisreoccurs.Beforestarting
theengine,pleasereadcarefullythecontents
inthe"CatalyticconverterandParticulate
Filter"section.

1Switchoffallunnecessaryelectricalequipment
(includingtheairconditioning);
2Applytheparkingbrake(referto"BrakeSystem"of
thissection);
3Forautotransmissionvehicles,ensuretheshiftlever
