Note:Whentheshiftleverisinanyotherposition,
theenginecannotbestarted.
4Formanualtransmissionvehicle,ensureneutralis
selectedandtheclutchpedalisfullypressed;
5Insertthekey,rotateittopositionSTARTandrelease
thekeyimmediatelyaftertheengineisstarted.
Note:Aftertheenginestarts,ifthekeyisnotreleased
immediately,thestarterwillcontinuetowork,which
willnotonlydischargethebattery,butalsodamage
thestarterandstartermotor,catalyticconverterand
particulatelter.
PrecautionsforStartingtheEngine
DONOTpresstheacceleratorpedalwhilestartingand
DONOToperatethestarterformorethan15seconds
atatime.Iftheenginefailstostart,turnofftheignition
switchandwaitatleast10secondsbeforetryingagain.
Ifthekeyinsidethevehiclecannotberecognisedby
theengineimmobiliser ,theenginewillnotstart.The
relevantalarmiconwillappearontheinstrumentpack
(referto"WarningLampsandIndicators"in"Instruments
andControls"section).
Idlespeedwilldecreaseafterenginewarm-up.Donot
increaseenginespeedimmediatelyafterenginestarts.
Progressivelyoperatetheengineandtransmissionsothat
oilcanpreheatandlubricatealloperatingcomponents.
Iftheremotekeyisnotinthevehicleorsubjecttosome
interference,thecorrespondingalarmiconwillappear
ontheinformationcentredisplay;ifthebatteryinside
theremotekeyneedstobereplaced,thecorresponding
alarmiconwillappearontheinstrumentpack(refer
to"WarningLampsandIndicators"in"Instrumentsand
Controls"section),andyoucanstilldrivethevehicle.
