StoppingtheEngine
Stoptheengineasfollows:
1Afterbringingthecartoastop,continuetoapplythe
footbrakeuntiltheparkingbrakeisapplied;
2Applyparkingbrake;
3Forvehicleswithautomatictransmission,ensurethat
theshiftleverisinPposition.
Note:Iftheparkingbrakeisappliedbuttheshift
leverisnotfullyintheparking(P)position,then
theremaybebeariskofthevehiclesuddenly
movingandcausinginjurytoyourselforothers
whenstartingtheengine.
4Forvehicleswithmanualtransmission,ensurethatthe
shiftleverisinneutralposition.
5T urnthekeyfromON/RUNpositiontoLOCK/OFF
position,theenginewillbeshutdownandthekeycan
beremoved.
Note:Afterstrenuoustowingordrivingathigh
speed(particularlyinhotweather),itissuggested
toallowtheenginetoidleforafewminutesbefore
switchingoff,whichenablesthecoolingsystemto
workcontinuouslytolowertheenginetemperature.
