systemandsetthespeedlimit.TheASLindicatorlampin
theinstrumentpackwillilluminate.
Whenactivatedifthevehiclespeedisgreaterthanthe
userinputtedtargetspeedthesystemwillimmediately
begintoslowthevehicletotheinputtedtarget.
KickDown
Withthesystemactiveifitisnecessarytoacceleratethe
vehiclee.g.overtakingmanoeuvre,thesystemcanbeover
riddenbypressingtheacceleratorpedalpassedaKick
downposition.Thekickdownpositionisapproximately
80%oftheoverallacceleratorpedaltravel.Oncethekick
downpositionhasbeenreachedtheASLsystementersa
standbystateandreturnsthevehicleoperationtotheuser,
acceleratingaccordingtothedemandfromtheaccelerator
pedal.
Afterakickdownevent,oncethevehiclespeedhas
droppedbelowthetargetspeedoriginallycontrolledto,
theASLsystemwillautomaticallyresumeandcontrolthe
vehicletothetargetspeedretainedwithinthesystem.
SuspendingASL
WhenASLisactive,tosuspendthefeaturepressthe
"CruiseStandby"button(4)andtheASLsystemwillexit
tothestandbystatereturningcontroltotheaccelerator
pedal.
Note:Whensuspendedviathe"CruiseStandby"
button(4)thepreviouslyinputtedtargetspeedwillbe
retainedwithinthesystemmemoryinthecasethat
thesystemisreactivated.
ResumingASL
Ifthesystemhasbeenplacedinastandbystatewitha
retainedtargetspeedthesystemcanbereactivatedtothe
previouslystoredtargetspeedbypressingthe"Set"button.
Note:AftertheignitionisswitchedOFF ,thetarget
speedpreviouslystoredwillbeerased.Intheinterest
ofeconomyandsafety,itisrecommendedtoselect
differenttargetspeedsaccordingtodifferentdriving
androadconditions.
