tyres,andregularlyinspectthetreadandsidewallsforany
signofdistortion(bulges),cutsorwear.
Note:Ifpossible,protecttyresfromcontaminationby
oil,greaseandfuel.
T yrePressure
Beforealongdistancejourney,thetyre
pressuremustbechecked.
Checkthepressure(includingthesparewheel)atleast
onceamonth,whenthetyresarecold.
Ifitisnecessarytocheckthetyrepressurewhentheyare
warm,youshouldexpectthepressuretohaveincreasedby
0.3to0.4bar(4.35to5.8psi).Inthiscircumstance,NEVER
letairoutofthetyresinordertomatchtherecommended
pressure(cold).
Valves
Keepthevalvecapsscreweddownrmly-theypreventdirt
fromenteringthevalve.Checkthevalveforleaks(listen
foratell-talehissing)whenyoucheckthetyrepressure.
PuncturedT yres
Ifasharpobjectpenetratesthetyreandremainsinit,the
tyremaynotleak.Ifyouareawareofthisoccurring,reduce
speedimmediatelyanddrivewithcautionuntilthespare
wheelcanbetted,orrepairsundertaken.
Note:Ifthesidewallofthetyreisdamagedor
distorted,replacethetyreimmediately,donot
attemptarepair.
