Catalyticconvertersandparticulateltersareeasily
damagedthroughimproperuse,especiallyifthewrong
fueloroiltotheincorrectspecicationisused.
Fuel
•Useonlyfuelrecommendedforyourcar .
•Neverallowthecartorunoutoffuel–thiscouldcause
seriousdamagetothecatalystsystem.
EngineOils
•Itisrecommendedthatonlyoilsthatmeetthe
manufacturersspecicationareused.Useofoilsthat
donotmeetthemanufacturersspecicationscan
damagetheparticulatelter,forexamplelowSAPSoils
canaffectparticulatelterashcapacity.
Starting
•Donotcontinuetooperatethestarterafterafewfailed
attempts;seekanMGAuthorisedRepairer .
•Donotoperatethestarterifanenginemisreis
suspectedanddonotattempttoclearamisreby
pressingtheacceleratorpedal.
•Donotattempttopushortowstartthecar.
Driving
Pleasepayattentiontothefollowingconditions:
•Donotoverloadorexcessively‘rev’ofengine.
•Donotstoptheenginewhenthecarisinmotionwith
agearselected.
•SeekanMGAuthorisedRepairerifyouthinkyourcar’s
oilconsumptionisabnormal.
•Ifamisreissuspected,orthecarlackspowerwhile
driving,providedtheenginehasreacheditsnormal
operatingtemperature,itmaybedrivenSLOWLY(at
riskofcatalystandparticulatelterdamage)toanMG
AuthorisedRepairer .
•Donotdriveonterrainlikelytosubjecttheunderside
ofthecartoheavyimpacts.
Note:Anyenginemisre,lossofengineperformance
orenginerun-on,couldseriouslydamagethecatalytic
converterandparticulatelter.Regularmaintenance
mustbecarriedoutinaccordancewiththeschedule
speciedinthe‘WarrantyandMaintenanceManual’.
Anymodicationstoenginewithoutbeingauthorised
isprohibited.
