RemovetheignitionkeyandswitchoffALLelectrical
equipmentofBOTHvehicles,thenfollowtheinstructions
below:
1ConnecttheREDboostercablebetweenthepositive
(+)terminalsofbothbatteries.ConnecttheBLACK
boostercablefromthenegative(-)terminalofthe
donorbattery(A)toagoodearthpoint(anengine
mountingorotherunpaintedsurface,forexample),at
least0.5mfromthebatteryandwellawayfromfuel
andbrakelinesonthedisabledvehicle(B).
2Checkthatthecablesareclearofmovingpartsofboth
engines,thenstarttheengineofthedonorvehicleand
allowittoidleforafewminutes.
3Nowstarttheengineofthevehiclewiththe
dischargedbattery(DONOTcranktheenginefor
morethan10seconds).Ifthedisabledvehiclewill
notstartafterseveralattempts,itmayneedtobe
repaired.PleasecontacttheMGAuthorisedRepairer.
4Afterboththevehicleshavenormallystarted,allow
theenginestoidleformorethan2minutesbefore
shuttingdowntheengineofthedonorvehicleand
disconnectingthejumpercables.
IMPORTANT
NEVERturnonanyelectricalequipmentonthe
startedvehiclebeforeremovingtheboostercables.
5Disconnectingtheboostercablesmustbeanexact
reversaloftheprocedureusedtoconnectthem,i.e.
disconnecttheBLACKcablefromtheearthpointon
thedisabledvehicleFIRST .
