Calibrating the 10-mmHg Pressure Transducer (10-mmHg units only)
1. Connect an external pressure gauge to sample port 1.
2. Manually evacuate the system by opening valves 10, 6, 1, 4, 15, and 11.
3. Wait 20 minutes, then close all valves except 5, 15, and 1.
4. Backfill the instrument to 8 mmHg using the servo valve and the N2 valve.
5. Select Unit [n] > Calibration > Pressure Scale (10-torr).
6. Enter the pressure from the reference pressure gauge in the Enter pressure field.
7. Reduce the pressure to 4.5 mmHg + 0.25 mmHg,
8. Record the value for the 10 mmHg transducer and reference gauge.
9. Calculate the difference between the pressure calibration gauge and the instrument
transducer. The difference must be less than 0.02 mmHg.
To perform this calibration, you must be able to connect an external reference gauge
to Sample Port 1.
