16. Once master links are removed, remove conveyor
hinge pin (Q). Now hinge halves can be separated.
17. Remove worn belt by pulling on one end. On dual
sided machine, make sure that chain links are
not caught on sprockets of drive roller on other
discharge end.
18. Before installing new belt. Check to see if chain
wear strips and roller supports (S) need repair.
Remove debris accumulated in chain wear strip
and roller support.
19. Check for any damaged or non-functioning support
roller (T). Any damaged/ non-functioning roller must
be replaced with a new one. Free rotating rollers
prolong conveyor belt life by keeping it from getting
struck or any other malfunction.
20. Inspect drive roller and sprocket (U) on both
discharge ends.
21. Pick up new conveyor belt (V) with overhead crane
or a suitable lifting device so that conveyor belt
ends are freely hanging.
22. Insert one of free belt ends into lower chain guide
and push as far in as possible. While inserting belt
end make sure that top surface of belt, which has
top end of the elevator bolts, faces downwards.
23. Once started, push belt forward through entire
width of hopper with the help of a bar (W) inserted
through debris exit holes (X) provided on chain
wear strip.
