The plug of the washing machine (if fitted) must be accessible at all
times to ensure that the washing machine can be disconnected from
the electricity supply at any time.
For hard-wired machines, an all-pole means of deactivation must
be provided on site. The means for disconnection must be
incorporated in the fixed wiring in accordance with the wiring rules,
AS/NZS 3000.
If the washing machine is hard wired, provision must be made on
site to switch off all poles from the electricity supply. The
disconnection switch must be located in the immediate area around
the washing machine, and must always be visible, accessible and
easily reachable.
