9 Filter SSID This option allows to restrict the listed AP's in the Access Point List
to the APs that have an SSID matching the currently active settings.
Especially in WLAN infrastructures with many AP's and SSID's the
AP list can be displayed more clearly.
5.2 Wireless SSID Profile
From firmware 2.09 it is possible to define several WLAN SSID profiles. This can be used to configure the
MC to switch between different WLAN areas with different SSIDs without intervention.
Each WLAN profile defines its own parameters for:
- SSID
- Encryption (WPA/WPA2)
- PSK
- 802.1x (EAP parameter incl. user + password)
The 802.1x certificates (Server + User) apply to all profiles.
5.2.1 SSID Profile
Nr. Parameter Value Funktion
1 SSID 1-32 char. This is the network name of the WLAN. This is specified by the AP
(WLAN system) in the 'Infrastructure' mode.
2 Priority 1-10 This value has only a meaning, if several SSID profiles are active.
The priority determines which profile is preferred to connect to a
WLAN. The value 1 means the lowest priority.
5.2.2 Profile change action
This is used to determine what must be done when the SSID profile is changed.
Nr. Parameter Value Funktion
1 DHCP Renew
Rebind
Restart
This setting determines how the MC behaves in relation to the
active DHCP client when switching to this profile. With Renew or
Rebind it is assumed that the same DHCP server is responsible for
both profiles and the already assigned IP can still be used. "Restart"
restarts the DHCP procedure immediately to get a new IP address.
5.2.3 Security Parameter
Nr. Parameter Value Funktion
1 Encryption
Mode
Here, you specify which encryption method is to be used to
communicate twith the AP. In principle, the AP specifies which
method is used on the WLAN network defined by "SSID".
1 no Encryption
2 WEP 64 or 128bit encryption using the RC4-
algorithm
3 WPA according to 802.11i
4 WPA2 according to 802.11i
5 WPA/WPA2 Automatic choice once the AP is
offering
