Scan
Your radio cycles through the programmed scan list
for the current channel looking for voice activity when
you start a scan.
The LED blinks yellow.
There are two ways of initiating scan:
Main Channel
Scan (Manual)
Your radio scans all the channels
or groups in your scan list. On
entering scan, your radio may,
depending on the settings,
automatically start on the last
scanned active channel or group,
or on the channel where scan was
initiated.
Auto Scan
(Automatic)
Your radio automatically starts
scanning when you select a
channel or group that has Auto
Scan enabled.
Turning Scan On or Off
Follow the procedure to turn scan on or off on your
radio.
Do one of the following:
• Press the programmed Scan button to start or
stop Scan.
• Turn the Channel Selector Knob to select a
channel programmed with a scan list.
If scan is enabled:
• The yellow LED blinks.
• A positive indicator tone sounds.
If scan is disabled:
• The LED turns off.
• A negative indicator tone sounds.
