Electric Joystick and Harness
To remove/replace an electric joystick and harness:
NOTE: The joystick is soldered into the harness. If the joy-
stick needs to be replaced, the whole harness
must be replaced.
1. Remove the screw that holds the harness ground
lead to the engine using a 10 mm wrench. See Figure
11.31.
NOTE: On some models, the ground wire is attached to
the engine next to the starter.
2. Disconnect the Alternator Connection.
3. Disconnect the headlight.
NOTE: Folding the handle bars down will allow easier
access to the harness under the control panel.
4. Disconnect the Heated Hand Grips (if equipped). See
Figure 11.32.
5. Disconnect the Heated Hand Grip Switch (if
equipped).
6. Disconnect the pitch and rotation motor connections
7. Cut off any wire ties that are holding the harness to
the machine.
8. Remove the two screws that hold the bottom cover
to the Joystick Bracket using a T-20 torx driver. See
Figure 11.33.
