3.2 Operating temperatures
Please note that the modem’s lifetime, i.e., the MTTF (mean time to failure) may be reduced if
operated outside the extended temperature range.

1. Extended operation allows normal mode speech calls or data transmissions for a limited time
until the automatic thermal shutdown mode takes effect. Within the extended temperature
range (outside the operating temperature range) the specified electrical characteristics may
be increased or decreased.
2. Due to uncertainty in temperature measurement, a tolerance of ±3ºC on the stated shutdown
thresholds may occur.
Note that within the specified operating temperature ranges the unit temperature may vary to a great
extent depending on the operating mode, used frequency band, radio output power and current
supply voltage.
