2-32 Using the Hardware
3. If Windows for Workgroups is your operating system,
check the CardWizard™ icon in the Program Manager.
It shows which slot contains a PC card and which is
empty.
To remove the card, press the button on the side of the
slot. A high tone followed by a low tone sounds.
Docking the NEC Versa 4000
You can further enhance your NEC Versa 4000’s capabili-
ties by connecting the notebook computer to an optional
docking station.
NOTE
If you have a CD-ROM reader installed in
your NEC Versa 4000 and another CD-ROM reader
installed in the docking station, you must select the
audio source you want to use.
Check for the CD-ROM reader icon in the Power-
Panel toolbar. Click to specify the CD-ROM reader
to use.
NEC Versa PortBar 4000
The NEC Versa PortBar™ 4000 duplicates the ports found
on the back of your NEC Versa 4000 system. Keep the
PortBar in your office connected to peripherals while you
take your NEC Versa 4000 on the road.
NOTE
Whenever you dock the NEC Versa 4000, the
back IR port is automatically disabled and the front
IR port is enabled.
