The above adjustment, of course, is only valid if the vertical
gear No. C 85664 (Fig. 81) is already in its proper place and the
gear has not changed its correct position.
ADJUSTMENT OF THE AXIAL PLAY (END PLAY) OF THE
UPPER SHAFT
The eccentric No. A 85241 (Fig. 82), which induces the impulses
of the cam axle, is also being used for regulating the axial play of
the upper shaft.
After a long time of use, the upper shaft of the machine may
possibly have more axial play than is permissible. In order to
eliminate this play, proceed as follows:
