Symptom Corrective action
No image appears.
• Connect the cables securely.
• Connect the cables firmly in their specified locations.
• Connect the camera head correctly.
• Remove the C mount cap from the camera head.
• Place the subject within the field of view of the microscope or lens.
• Direct the optical path of the microscope to the camera.
• Make sure the PC's USB port, the USB interface board installed in the
PC, and USB hub comply with the USB 2.0 standard.
• Confirm that only one hub stage exists between the PC's USB port and
the DS-U1. We strongly recommend against using more than one hub.
• Use the USB 2.0-compliant cable to connect the DS-U1 to the PC's
USB port.
• Check that the OS version is compatible with the system. Mac OS is
not supported.
Supported OSs
Windows 2000, Service Pack 4 (SP4) or later
Windows XP, Service Pack 1 (SP1) or later
• Make sure the PC is installed with the DS-U1 driver. The DS-U1 driver
is provided on the CD-R disc supplied with the product.

• Use Microsoft's standard USB 2.0 driver as the USB controller device
driver.
Using a device driver supplied by a different company may result in
improper operation.

• Make sure the application software used is compatible with the DS-U1.
• Set the correct exposure with the application software.

Fixed red, blue,
green, white/black
images appear on the
screen.
• Connect the camera cable securely.
