Pull out the polarizer slider on the epi
illuminator to remove the polarizer from
the optical path.
See Page 36.

Push in the analyzer slider on the
polarizing intermediate tube to remove the
analyzer from the optical path.
See Page 37.

Move the Bertrand lens turret to the “0”
position to remove the Bertrand lens from
the optical path.
See Page 39.

Push in the illumination selector lever on
the epi illuminator to set the bright-field
(BF) position for it.
See Page 42.

Rotate the nosepiece to place the 10x
objective into the optical path.

Set the specimen in place with the cover
glass facing up.

Fully open the field diaphragm and the
aperture diaphragm on the epi illuminator.
See Pages 43 and 44.

When using the trinocular eyepiece tube,
set the optical path selector lever to the
position where 100% light goes through
the binocular eyepiece.

Adjust the diopters and the interpupillary
distance.

Focus on the specimen.
Fully loosen the coarse focus stopper ring.
