SIDE BROOM MAINTENANCE
Side broom adjustment
NOTE
Brooms with harder or softer bristles are available.
This procedure is applicable to all types of brooms.
1. Drive the machine on a level oor.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Turn the ignition key (66) and start the machine.
4. Lower the side broom with the lever (52) and let it run for 1 minute.
5. When lowered, the side brooms (9) (15, equipped on SR 1601 MAXI) should be contacting the oor as shown in the gure (A
and B, Fig. 4).
6. To adjust, loosen the knob (A, Fig. 5) and operate on the side broom adjuster (B) by considering the following:
• When turning clockwise, the side broom pressure is decreased.
• When turning counter-clockwise, the side broom pressure is increased.
After adjusting, lock the adjuster with the knob (A).
7. Repeat steps 1-5 to check the proper adjustment of the side broom height.
8. When the broom is too worn to be adjusted, replace it as shown in the next paragraph.
NOTE
The side brooms (9) (15, equipped on SR 1601 MAXI) should be replaced when the bristles are worn to a length of 3 in
(75 mm). When replacing the side brooms, adjust the height.
