11. Data communications
You can use your radio as a modem and transfer data to other devices when the
radio is connected to a compatible PC via a DLR-3Tcable.
To send and receive e-mail and to connect to computers and access the Internet,
you also need the appropriate data communications software installed on a
compatible PC. You can use your radio with a variety of commercially available
data communications applications.
To use your radio as a modem, you must first install it as a modem on your PC.
The data connection is a network service. For details and availability, contact your
service provider.
Call functions during a data connection
Depending on network support and predefined radio settings, it may be possible to
make and receive phone calls, express calls, and group calls during a data
connection. The express calls made to you, however, may be changed to one-way
phone calls, and you can receive them like phone calls.
During a call, data transfer is suspended. After the call ends, the radio tries to
resume the data connection.
