Unit alert messages
The unit alert network service is one type of status message. It is used to alert
people to the following radio traffic. If you receive a unit alert message, pay
special attention to the following calls and messages.
The text of the unit alert message is predefined by your organisation. When you
receive a unit alert message, the message is displayed, the radio will play an alarm
tone, the lights will flash and the General profile will be activated. You can stop
the alarm by pressing Stop.
A unit alert message is sent like a status message.
Reading status messages
When you receive a status message, the message and appear in standby
mode. The type of the message is identified with either Status: (statuses addressed
to an individual), Group status: (statuses addressed to a talk group), Situation: or
Callback request:.
To confirm that you have read the message: Press OK. If you have received
another status message, 1 status message received is displayed. To read the
message, press Read.
To read the message later: press Exit.
After you have pressed OK or Exit, the message is moved to the Received folder.
Reading a status message in the received folder
1. Press Menu and select Status msgs..
