6.3.8 Resident Bitmap Font
This device does not come with resident bitmap fonts for PS.
6.3.9 Encoding
Encoding is mapping information on which character is assigned to each ASCII code. It is
equivalent to the symbol set in PCL.
The following two types of Encoding are standard. Anyother types are subnect to re-encoding
according to PostScript jobs.
(1) Adobe Standard Encoding
(2) ISO Latin Encoding
6.3.10 Fonts
There are the following types of download fonts.
(1) Type-1 When downloading regular PostScript fonts.
(2) Type-3 When downloading mainly the fonts as Bitmap.
(3) Type-42 When downloading TrueType fonts.
The number of fonts that can be downloaded in this device depends on its VM size.
