4.1 Functional Overview
(1) Operating Mode
C911/C931/C941/Pro9541WT has the following five operating modes.
(a) Running Mode
A mode in which C911/C931/C941/Pro9541WT can immediately print upon signals from its
ICU. In the mode, the printer operates at a print speed, the fuser temperature of the printer
stands ready for printing and the electrophotographic process of the printer is ready.
(b) Ready Mode
A mode into which, when C911/C931/C941/Pro9541WT completes printing and no print data
comes to it, it goes after it outputs the end edge of the paper last-output from it. In the
mode, the fuser temperature of the printer stands ready for printing and the mechanism part
of the printer pauses.
(c) Power-saving Mode
A mode into which, when printing on C911/C931/C941/Pro9541WT is not initiated for a set
period of time after it completes printing, it goes under signals from its PUCU to save energy
consumption. The period is user-selectable. In the mode, the printer functions with a low
level of power consumption to meet EPA Entergy Star Program requirements(Pro9541WT
does not comply with Energy Star Program), retaining its operator panel operational.
Initiating printing on the printer in the mode places the printer into Running mode.
(d) Sleep mode
A mode into which, when printing on C911/C931/C941/Pro9541WT is not initiated or not
operated on operator panel for a set period of time after the power-saving mode, it goes the
Sleep mode that consume the power to recive the print data or sense the pushing switch
(power save switch on operator panel) .
User can select the shift time from power-saving mode to Sleep mode.
(e) Off mode
A mode into which, when printing on C911/C931/C941/Pro9541WT is not initiated for a set
period of time after the Sleep mode, it goes the Off mode that consume the very small power
to sense the pushing power switch.
User can select the shift time to Off mode.
(2) Auto Color Registration Adjustment
C911/C931/C941/Pro9541WT have an auto color registration adjustment function that detects
the relative positions of its four or five LED heads to correct print positions. The auto adjustments
on the LED heads are made:
(a) At the time the printer is turned on;
(b) At the time the front cover open history has been detected at soft switch ON
(c) At the time the Top-cover of the printer is closed;
(d) Every 400 pages after the above (but after the printer prints a job during or after which a
relevant count is reached);
(e) At the time changing from MANUAL to AUTO the color registration setting
The time duration for the auto color registration adjustments is 45 seconds or shorter.
(3) Auto Print Density Adjustment
