DASH
OUTLETS-The
air
is
discharged
from
five
adjustable
outlets,
two
in
the
center,
one
at
each
end
of
the
instrument
panel,
and
two
lap
outlets
in
the
valance
below
the
panel. These
outlets
can be
adjusted
to
direct
air
throughout
the
car.
The
air
flow
from
the
3 panel
outlets
may
be
shut
off
with
a
switch
located
adjacent
to
the
outlet.
Reduction
of
air flow
from
the
2 lap
outlets
is
obtained
by
closing
the
deflector
vanes.
CONTROLS-The
air
conditioner
controls
are
combined
with
heating
and
ventilating
controls
located
to
the
left
of
the
steering
column.
The
dual sliding lever
controls
provide a
choice
of
air
flow,
air
direction
and
temperature,
as follows:
FOR
COOLING-Move
the
top
lever
to
"AIR
COND"
position,
adjust
the
bottom
(temperature)
lever
to
the
desired air
temperature
and
adjust
the
fan
switch
to
meet
the
air
flow
requirements.
For
maximum
cooling
or
quick
cool
down
in
hot,
humid
climates, move
the
temperature
lever
to
"COLD".
This
provides 80%
recircu lated air
and
20%
outside
air
at
high
blower
speed
independent
of
fan
speed
switch setting. Moving
the
temperature
lever one-half inch
to
the
right
(until a
detent
is
felt) provides 100%
outside
air
and
maximum
cooling
at
the
blower
speed
set
on
the
fan
switch.
Further
movement
of
the
lever
to
the
right
heats
the
dehumidified
air
to
provide
the
desired
temperature
in
the
car.
NOTE:
A
protective
device installed on
all
air
condition
equipped cars
will
turn
the
compressor
off
should the system leak
refrigerant, thus avoiding possible costly
repair
and
inconvenience
to
the owner.
FOR
VENTILATING-With
the
top
lever
in
the
"VENT"
position,
100%
outside
air
enters
the
car
through
the
air
conditioning
and
heater
outlets.
Heat
may
be
added
to
the
vent
air
by
adjusting
the
bottom
lever.
Anyone
of
the
four
blower
speeds
may
be
selected.
