3-5 Monitoring I/O Status
The ON/OFF status of input bits (i.e., the execution conditions) and the present values of
operands in special instructions in a ladder program can be monitored. Start the Ladder
Monitor in the I/O status monitoring state.

ON/OFF Displays of Input Bits and Lines
The symbol for the input bit will change color according to the ON/OFF status of the bit. In
addition, the lines connected to the input bits will also change color.

Note: The execution conditions on connecting lines passing through the following symbols will not
be displayed.
• Condition flags (=, ER, CY, >=, >, <=, <, <>, AER, N, OF, UF), and input conditions with
IR or DR as operands
• Comparison instructions using DM/EM indirect addressing
• Time comparison instructions (such as =DT)
•
Present Values of Special Instruction Operands (Words)
For special instructions, word present values are displayed above the operand as shown
below. Present values can be displayed as hexadecimal, decimal (&), or signed decimal
(+-), in a maximum of 11 digits. Any portion beyond 11 digits will be shown as an
underline.

The present value of a special instruction will be displayed in floating-point decimal
numbers as shown below.

3-5-2 Stopping I/O Status Monitoring
Use the following procedures to stop and restart I/O status monitoring.
1. To stop I/O status monitoring, press the Menu Button and select Ladder Monitor
Stop from the menu.
2. To restart I/O status monitoring, press the Menu Button and select Ladder Monitor
Start from the menu.
