Onan DJA Series User Manual

GENERAL INFORMATION
DJA Series engines are four cycle, vertical, air-cooled
diesel fueled engines with overhead valves. The crank-
case and cylinder are integral. Engines are run in and
adjusted at the factory. Any damage incurred in transit
must be corrected before operating the engine. See
Figure 1 for a typical model DJA Industrial Engine.
Normal engine speed range is up to 2400 rpm. An inter-
nal, constant speed, flyball-type mechanical governor,
externally adjustable, is standard. Optional two-speed
and variable-speed governors are available.
When instructions apply to a specific engine model,
refer to the engine nameplate for the Model and Spec
No. in question.
Throughout this manual the flywheel end will be called
the front and the fuel pump side is designated the'left
side.
