Slide the shim or shims (using proper thickness of
shims for correct
timing)
over the
pilot until
they
are
flat
on the pump flange. See Figure 22.
2.
Dip the seal ("0"
ring)
in engine
lubricating
oil.
3. Slide the seal over the
pilot until tight
against the
shim
or shims.

With
shims and seal in place insert the pump
into
cylinder
block mounting pad, and insert mounting
screws. Torque the mounting screws (tighten alternate-
ly)
to
18-21
foot-pounds.
Install
the
fuel inlet .line
and
governor linkage. Bleed
the pump
and
then install
the
fuel outlet line
(see
Installation Section).
