7.0 ALARMS
ALERT POTENTIAL ISSUE POSSIBLE SOLUTION
“Alarm Max Velocity” The actual ow is greater than the volumetric
ow rate at 20 ft/s
Nonideal ow rate condition. Contact ONICON if a short
high ow rate test is needed
“Alarm High Flow” Meter has reached HW ow limit of 20 ft/sec, or
high limit specied over BACnet
Check high limit of Volume Rate BACnet object
Nonideal ow rate condition. Contact ONICON if a
short high ow rate test is needed
“Alarm AOUT 1 High Flow” Flow exceeds Analog Out 1 congured range Conrm the analog output full scale is equal to or
greater than the design max ow of the system
Go to Main Menu -> user conguration-> Input/
Ouput-> Analog Output to adjust the full scale of
the meter
“Alarm AOUT 2 High Flow” Flow exceeds Analog Out 2 congured range Conrm the analog output full scale is equal to or
greater than the design max ow of the system.
Go to Main Menu -> user conguration-> Input/
Ouput-> Analog Output to adjust the full scale of
the meter
“Alarm Freq High Flow” Frequency out exceeds congured max (GPM) Conrm the frequency output full scale is equal to
or greater than the design max ow of the system.
Go to Main Menu -> user conguration-> Input/
Ouput-> Frequency Output to adjust the full scale
of the meter
“Alarm Empty Pipe” Empty Pipe condition detected Conrm the pipe is full of water and the meter is
properly ground according to section 3.5.
Verify the possible solution steps given on “Error
Elec 1 Disconnected” Empty pipe can show if Elec1
is disconnected.
“Alarm Warm Up” Meter is electronics warming up If 3 min have passed, power cycle the unit and wait
3 more min for the alarm to clear o.
Contact ONICON if the alarm is still present. RMA
needed.
“Alarm Pulse 1 Overrun” At current ow rate, pulses are occurring faster
than congured pulse multiplier and duration -
digital port 1
Conrm the ow rate data and pipe diameter data
on the tag attached to the meter correspond with
the actual ow and actual pipe diameter.
Any mismatch between the calibrated and actual
ow rates or the calibrated and actual pipe
diameter will cause this alarm message to appear.
Check Pulse Factor, Pulse Duration, and Volume
Unit on Digital I/O screen, and Pipe Cong Settings
screen. If the problem persists, contact ONICON
support.
“Alarm Pulse 2 Overrun” At current ow rate, pulses are occurring faster
than congured pulse multiplier and duration -
digital port 2
“Alarm Pulse 3 Overrun” At current ow rate, pulses are occurring faster
than congured pulse multiplier and duration -
digital port 3
“Alarm Digital Out 1 Check Jumpers” Digital Out direction (in/out) jumper setting
incorrect - port 1
Ensure jumpers J1 - J2 are set correctly to match settings
in Digital I/O conguration screen
“Alarm Digital Out 2 Check Jumpers” Digital Out direction (in/out) jumper setting
incorrect - port 2
Ensure jumpers J3 - J4 are set correctly to match settings
in Digital I/O conguration screen
“Alarm Digital Out 3 Check Jumpers” Digital Out direction (in/out) jumper setting
incorrect - port 3
Ensure jumpers J5 - J6 are set correctly to match settings
in Digital I/O conguration screen
