RTC (rope tension control)
General
Purpose:
RTC (rope tension control) makes it possible to fold / unfold cranes with the rope reeved, and also for a
short time to use the hook with the rope reeved and the fly-jib. Regardless of the steps or crane
position the rope always remains under tension.
Function:
Due to the crane geometry the rope gets shortened or elongated during folding / unfolding. With every
change in geometry, RTC keeps the tension of the rope via the rope winch.
Precondition:
Paltronic 150, main boom rope winch, fly jib, rope is reeved in rope protection bolt.
RTC operating modes
The display shows the currently active operating mode.
1. RTC off 2. RTC active 3. RTC on 4. RTC inactive
Note! If RTC is still active when the crane is turned off, it will get re-
activated when the crane is turned on again.
In case of cranes with radio controlled support:
If RTC is active RTC gets inactive when you switch to support
operation. After returning to crane operation RTC is active again.
In case of cranes with manual stabilizers (key switch):
If RTC is active, RTC gets turned off when you switch to support
operation (key switch). After returning to crane operation RTC
remains off and does not get automatically activated.
Every time you have changed the operation mode (crane operation /
support operation) RTC must be switched on by hand.
