Operating Precautions
Water supply
z Do not drink water in case of the following
conditions.
y Very turbid water, or water containing a great
deal of red rust
( Doing so may shorten the service life of the
cartridge.)
y Well water near sea coast
(Doing so may cause malfunction.)
z When using the product in areas where
the hardness of tap water is high*,
discharge acidic water for about 1 minute
before using every day.
( Otherwise, the calcium will attach in the main
spout and the passage of water, resulting in poor
water run.)
* In areas where the hardness of water is high,
soaps poorly lather up, and white matter
(calcium) will attach to teapots and pots.
z Depending on the quality of tap water in the
residential area, the pH level of the water
may not be adjusted to the specied level.
Installation
z Do not install the Alkaline Ionizer in the
following locations.
y Near hot areas such as heating appliances
(60 °C or above)
(The product may become deformed.)
y Where the product is exposed to direct
sunlight, or wind and rain
(An operational error or malfunction may occur.)
y Where freezing may occur
(Cracking in the water pipes or cartridge may occur.)
y Where the product tends to be subject to oil
(The main unit may be cracked.)
y In a bathroom or where the product is
exposed to water or steam
(An operational error or malfunction may occur.)
y
In areas lower than the kitchen counter (such as the oor)
(Water may not be drained completely.)
y Near radios
(Radio wave interference or noise may occur.)
z Do not connect the Alkaline Ionizer to a
hot water-dedicated faucet.
(Doing so may cause malfunction.)
z Do not extend the main spout using a
commercially sold hose, etc.
(Doing so may cause malfunction.)
Usage
z Do not lay down the main unit for use.
(Doing so may cause malfunction.)
z Use water with the temperatures shown in
the table below.
( Failure to do so may cause damage, or cause trihalomethane
adsorbed by the cartridge to be partially discharged.)

z Do not continuously use alkaline ion water
and acidic water for approx. 10 minutes or
more.
( Using such water approx. 10 minutes or more
displays U27, and stops electrolysis.→P.EN35)
Handling of pH test liquid (P. EN13, EN22)
z Store the pH test liquid in a place
without direct sunlight.
( Discoloration of the liquid may result in
incorrect measurement)
z To dispose of the pH test liquid, dilute
it with water and discharge it into
sewage.
