LCD
Conditions Causes
The LCD monitor
sometimes turns off
although the camera is
turned on.
The LCD turns off immediately after using the ash while it
recharges.
The LCD may turn off immediately after setting to recording
mode while it recharges.
Have you set [AUTO LCD OFF]?
( P22 )
The brightness of the
LCD monitor becomes
dark or bright for a
moment.
This phenomenon appears when pressing the shutter button
halfway to set the aperture value and does not affect the
recorded pictures.
The LCD monitor
ickers indoors.
The LCD monitor may icker for a few seconds after turning
the camera on indoors under uorescent light.
This is not a malfunction.
The LCD monitor is too
bright or dark.
Adjust the brightness of the LCD monitor.

Is the power LCD or the high angle mode activated? ( P38 )
Black, red, blue and
green dots appear on
the LCD monitor.
This is not a malfunction.
These pixels do not affect the recorded pictures.
Noise appears on the
LCD monitor.
In dark places, noise may appear to maintain the brightness
of the LCD monitor. This does not affect the pictures you are
recording.
Flash
Conditions Causes
Flash is not activated. Is the ash setting set to Forced OFF [
v]?
Change the ash setting. ( P39 )
The ash is not activated when motion picture mode [i],
[SCENERY], [NIGHT SCENERY], [SUNSET], [HI-SPEED
BURST], [STARRY SKY], [FIREWORKS] and [AERIAL
PHOTO] mode, burst and auto bracket is selected.
The ash is activated 2
times.
When you select red-eye reduction ( P39 ), the ash is
activated once before the actual recording to reduce the red-
eye phenomenon (eyes of the subject appearing red in the
picture) and then activated again for the actual recording.
