Attaching the Long Life Filter Unit (optional)
The optional Long Life Filter Unit (Model No.: ET-EMFU330) uses two of the same standard air lter unit attached
to the projector or the Replacement Filter Unit (Model No.: ET-EMF330) (accessory/optional accessory). The
interval to perform maintenance/replacement of lters is extended roughly two times by attaching the Long Life
Filter Unit instead of the standard air lter unit.
When purchasing the optional Long Life Filter Unit (Model No.: ET-EMFU330), consult your dealer.
Attention
f Make sure to turn off the power before removing the standard air lter unit attached to the projector and attaching the optional Long Life
Filter Unit. (x page 69)
f Make sure that the projector is stable, and perform the maintenance in a safe place even if the lter falls accidentally.
Note
f When the optional Long Life Filter Unit (Model No.: ET-EMFU330) is attached, the eyebolts cannot be attached on that side of the projector.
Removing the air lter unit
First, remove the standard air lter unit attached to the projector.

1) Turn off the power of the projector.
f When switching off the projector, make sure to follow the procedures in “Switching off the projector”
(x page 69).
2) Remove the air filter cover.
f Use a Phillips screwdriver to turn the air lter cover xing screw counterclockwise until it turns freely (Fig.
1), and open the air lter cover for approximately 90°, and then pull out in the direction of the arrow. (Fig. 2)
f Loosen the air lter cover xing screw while holding the air lter cover with your hand.
3) Remove the drop-prevention string.
f Remove the hook at the tip of the drop-prevention string attached to the air lter cover. (Fig. 3)
4) Pull out the air filter unit.
i) Pull out the air filter unit from the tabs on the projector body (c) while slightly pressing the grip on the air filter
unit (a) inward as described with the arrow. (Fig. 4)
ii) Pull out the air filter unit. (Fig. 5)
f When pulling out, conrm that the air lter unit comes off from the tabs on the projector body (d).
f After pulling out the air lter unit, remove large foreign objects and dust from the air lter unit compartment
and the air intake port of the projector body if there are any.
f When the air lter unit is removed, proceed to “Attaching the long life lter mount clasp” (x page 265)
