Adjusting speaker output
level
Adjust the level of the speakers so they are the same apparent level as
the front speakers when you are sitting where you would normally en-
joy a source.
1 Press [POWER, ê/I] on the receiver.
2 Press [SPEAKERS] to turn on
SPEAKERS.
3 Press [TEST] to output the test signal.
DSP sound mode switches to SURROUND mode.
The signal is output from each speaker in order for about two
seconds each:
L: Front speaker (left)
C: Center speaker
R: Front speaker (right)
RS: Surround speaker (right)
LS: Surround speaker (left)
SW: Subwoofer
Note
The test signal will not be output if DSP is defeated
(á page 23).
4 Adjust the volume to the level normal-
ly used.
Adjust the balance of the front speakers if necessary
(á page 35).
5 Press [LEVEL] to select the speaker
channel to adjust.
The current level appears on the display.
Press again to change the speaker channel.
6 Press [s] or [r] to adjust the level to
the same apparent level as the front
speakers.
C, RS, and LS can be adjusted between j10 dB and i10 dB,
with zero being the current level of the front speakers.
SW can be set to MIN, between 1 to 19, or MAX.
Repeat steps 5 and 6 for each speaker channel.
7 Press [TEST] to stop the test signal.
For your reference
Subwoofer output is easily influenced by the source played. You can
achieve better results by adjusting its output while listening to a source
(á page 35).
