Function Description
The P1D series cylinders are double-acting pneumatic cylinders that convert compressed air energy into linear motion. They are designed for smooth, quiet operation and extended service life, suitable for both simple and complex applications. The series includes Standard, Clean, Flexible Porting, and Tie-Rod versions, each tailored to specific operational requirements.

Usage Features
- P1D Standard: A universal, general-purpose cylinder offering high performance and long life. Features a body extrusion with grooves for "drop-in" sensors.
- P1D Clean: Designed for stringent hygiene demands, particularly in the foodstuffs industry. Features a convex body extrusion for easy cleaning, integrated adjustable sensors (patent applied for), and chemical resistance to industrial detergents. Minimum stroke for P1D Clean is 25 mm with 0-2 sensors and 100 mm with 3-4 sensors.
- P1D Flexible Porting: Innovative design that saves space by allowing air connections to be made in the front or rear end of the cylinder, utilizing integrated air channels within the body extrusion. Available with push-in fittings for Ø32-63 mm bores and threaded connections for Ø80-125 mm bores.
- P1D Tie-Rod: A tie-rod version based on the same high-level technology, suitable for applications requiring this specific construction. Uses "drop-in" P1D sensors with a multi-jointed adapter for flexible positioning.
- Piston Rod Locking (P1D-L, P1D-D): Available for Ø32-125 mm bores, allowing the piston rod to be locked in any position. The air/spring actuated lock unit is integrated into the front end piece and can be used for braking or locking.
- Through Piston Rod: Available for all bores, providing double support for the piston rod, increasing resistance to side forces, and facilitating external sensor installation.
- Dry Piston Rod Operation: A special piston rod seal system (HDPE scraper ring and piston rod seal) is available for applications where the piston rod grease film is regularly washed off, common in the foodstuffs industry.
- Low Pressure Hydraulics: Special seals are available for operation with low pressure hydraulics up to 10 bar, for bores Ø32-125 mm.

- Sensor Technology: New "drop-in" sensors (reed or electronic) are easily installed in recessed grooves on three sides of the cylinder body, protecting both the sensor and cable. Available with 3 or 10 m cables, 8 mm connectors, or M12 connectors. P1D Clean features integrated sensors beneath a transparent, sealed moulding, with visible LEDs for easy commissioning and troubleshooting.
Maintenance Features
- Greased for Life: Cylinders are factory-greased with a transparent, foodstuffs-approved, non-toxic grease (entirely free from PTFE and silicone), generally not requiring additional lubrication. If extra lubrication is provided, it must be continued regularly.
- Easy Cleaning (P1D Clean): Convex body extrusion and end covers without cavities or pockets facilitate effective cleaning, making fluids run off easily.
- Sealing Plugs (P1D Clean): Four plastic sealing plugs are supplied to cover unused end cover screws, ensuring a sealed function. These plugs are for single use.
- Sensor Adjustment: Sensors can be easily adjusted by loosening a set screw and using the cable to move the sensor to the desired position.
- Service Activities: Before any service, the cylinder must be vented, and the primary air hose disconnected to interrupt air supply.
- ATEX Maintenance: For ATEX certified cylinders (P1D-S), the cylinder must be kept clean, with dust/dirt layers not exceeding 1 mm. Strong solvents should be avoided for cleaning to prevent seal swelling. Regular inspection of the cylinder, attachments, and fittings is required to ensure "safe" installation standards are met.
