Info
The softener connection threads are 1" BSPT female.
Mandatory
Make sure having the incoming water connected to the right side (looking from the
front of the softener).
Do not over-tighten fitting.
Mandatory
Do not use pipe joint compound or plumber’s putty on the valve body threads and do not
over-tighten fitting.
Use only Teflon
®
tape.
9. Make certain proper piping alignment is maintained. Do not apply heat to any fitting
connected to the softener or damage to the valve may occur.
10. Move the softener in position and level.
Tip
To prevent water leaks, connections to the softener must be straight when the softener
is levelled.
11. Carefully connect the valve drain line at the back of the softener, see Drain line connection
[
→
Page33].
12. Connect salt storage tank overflow elbow to drain, see Overflow line connection [
→
Page35].
CAUTION
Do not connect valve drain line and overflow drain line together by teeing.
4.5.6 Water supply line and bypass connections
4.5.6.1 Water supply line
The connections should be hand tightened using PTFE (plumber’s tape) on the threads if using the
threaded connection type.
In case of heat welding (metal type connection), the connections should not be made to the valve
when soldering.

When pressurized, any composite tank will expand both vertically and circumferential. In order to
compensate the vertical expansion, the piping connections to the valve must be flexible enough to
avoid overstress on the valve and tank.
