Parkingbrakesworkinreverseaction
oftheregularbrakes.Whenthe
parkingbrakesareengaged,airis
exhaustedfromthespringchambers
whichallowthespringtoengagethe
brakes.Thisdesignalsoprovidesfor
thesafetyfunctionifabrakecircuit
hasaleakandlosesair.Insucha
scenario,theparkingbrakeswillapply.
Thevehicle’sparkingbrakecontrols
aretheyellowdiamondshapedknob
onyourdashboard.Ifthevehicleis
equippedtotowatrailer,thentherewill
beanadditionalredoctagonshaped
knobforthetrailerparkingbrakes.
Parkingbrakeswillbeengagedwhen
eitheroftheseknobsarepulledOUT.
(Ifoneknobispulledout,theother
knobwillautomaticallypopout.)
PushingINaknobwilldisengage
therespectiveparkingbrakes.Ifyou
pushintheyellowknobonly,you
willdisengagethevehicle’sparking
brakesbutwillnotdisengagethetrailer
parkingbrakes(ifapplicable).Either
knobwillpopbackoutifthesystem
pressureisnotabove60psi(414kPa).
Theinstrumentpaneldisplaywill
provideamessageanytimethe
parkingbrakes(vehicleorthetrailer)
aresetandthevehicleisputinto
motion.
