Takethefollowingprecautionsto
avoidburningoutalternatordiodes:
•Donotstarttheengine
withalternatordisconnected
(connectionsremoved)fromthe
circuit.
•Beforewelding,disconnectall
electronicconnectionstothe
vehiclebatteries.
•Removebatterypowercableand
insulateitfromthevehicle.
•Donotruntheenginewiththe
batteriesdisconnected.
•Donotdisconnectthebattery
cablesoralternatorconnection
cableswiththeenginerunning.
•Neverturntheignitionswitchfrom
theONpositiontotheSTART
positionwiththeenginerunning.
•Whenchargingthebattery
(installedinthevehicle)disconnect
thebatterycables.
•Donotreversethecablesofthe
alternator,startermotor,orbattery.
•Donotpolarizethealternator.The
alternatorshouldnotbepolarized
likeagenerator.Toensurecorrect
polarity,useatestlampora
voltmeter.
RemoteKeylessEntry
Theremotekeylessentrysystemmay
becomeinoperationalduetoakey
fobbattery.Ifyouhaveissueswith
akeyfob,replacethebatteryand
re-synchronizethekeyfob.Insome
situations,thekeyfobmayneedto
bereplacedandinothers,afusemay
havefailedandmayrenderbothkey
fobsinoperative.
Contactyourdealerformorehelpif
akeyfobdoesnotworkanditisnot
becauseofabadbattery.
