Beforeremovingreservoircover,
wipeoutsideofcoversothatnodirt
canfallintothereservoir.
1.Checktheuidlevel;adduidif
required.
2.Checkuidforcontamination,
discoloration,orburntsmell;
correctsourceofsuchproblems
beforereplacinguid&lter.
CAUTION
Whenaddinguid,besuretouse
uidofthesametype.Whilemany
uidshavethesamedescriptionand
intendedpurpose,theyshouldnot
bemixedduetoincompatiblead-
ditives.Mixingincompatibleuids
mayleadtoequipmentdamage.
Ifincompatible(insoluble)uidsare
mixedinapowersteeringsystem,
airbubblescanbeproducedatthe
interfaceofthetwouids.Thiscan
causecavitation,whichreducesthe
lubricationbetweenmovingpartsin
thegear.Thiscouldresultinworn
components.
Themixtureoftwodifferentuids,
althoughharmlesstoindividual
internalcomponents,mayinitiatea
chemicalreactionthatproducesanew
compoundthatwillattacksealsand
otherinternalcomponents.
Donotmixdifferentuids.
