BRAKESYSTEM
Makesurethattheuidlevelregisters
onorabovetheuidlevelmark
moldedonthereservoir-addmoreif
necessary,asfollows:
1.Removeeachreservoircapand
extracttherubberdiaphragmfrom
eachreservoir.
BoosterandMasterCylinder
Assembly
2.Filleachreservoirwithclean
hydraulicuidoftheapproved
specication(DOT3brakeuid).
3.Inserttherubberdiaphragmsinto
thereservoirs.
4.Topreventleakagefromthe
reservoirs,ensurethattheseal
ineachreservoircapisingood
conditionbeforerettingthecap.
WARNING!
Ifthebrakeuidreservoirrequires
anexcessiveamountofhydraulic
uid,thecompletesystemmustbe
inspectedforleaksandrepairedif
necessary(consultyournearestPe-
terbiltdealer).Failuretokeepthe
brakesystemingoodrepairmay
leadtolossofbrakingandpossibly
causeseriouspersonalinjury.
ServiceBrakeComponent
Inspection
Removeeachwheeltoinspectthe
brakecomponents.

Whenreplacingdiscbrakepads,be
suretousethesameliningmaterial
onbothaxles.Mixingliningtypes
canresultinunbalancedbraking,
increasedpadwear,ordegraded
stoppingperformance.Consultyour
nearestPeterbiltdealer.
Discbrakepads-Visuallyinspectall
brakepadlinings.Brakepadsshould
bereplacedwhentheremaining
liningreaches3⁄16inchthicknessor
