Seatandcabmovementin

characteristicsandseatdesign.
Theconstantmovementofthebelt
insidetherestrainthardwareand
thepotentialforthebelttocome
incontactwiththecabandother
vehicleparts,contributestothe
wearoftheentiresystem.
Environmentalconditions,suchas
dirtandultravioletraysfromthe
sun,willreducethelifeoftheseat
beltsystem.
Duetothesefactors,thethree-point
safetybeltsysteminstalledinyour
vehiclerequiresthoroughinspection
every20,000miles(32,000km).If
thevehicleisexposedtosevere
environmentalorworkingconditions,
morefrequentinspectionsmaybe
necessary.
Anyseatbeltsystemthatshowscuts,
fraying,extremeorunusualwear,
signicantdiscolorationduetoUV
(ultraviolet)exposure,abrasiontothe
seatbeltwebbing,ordamagetothe
buckle,latchplate,retractorhardware
oranyotherobviousproblemshould
bereplacedimmediately,regardless
ofmileage.

Itisimportanttorememberthatany
timeavehicleisinvolvedinanac-
cident,theentireseatbeltsystem
mustbereplaced.Unexposeddam-
agecausedbythestressofanacci-
dentcouldpreventthesystemfrom
functioningproperlythenexttimeit
isneeded.Failuretocomplymayre-
sultindeathorpersonalinjury.
