8.3. Conguration with voice assistants
Warning:
- Google Assistant does not currently allow you to use audio communication with your videophone.
For the moment, this is only possible with Alexa.
- The functions described depend on the language of your voice assistant, and we cannot guarantee
that all voice commands will be available in all compatible languages.
- We will continue to develop the compatibility between your Philips WelcomeEye Connect 3
videophone and Alexa and Google voice assistants as Alexa and Google are updated and new
features are added to these platforms.
Your Philips WelcomeEye Connect 3 videophone is compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant
voice assistants.
For example, you can display the image of your videophone if your voice assistant has a screen, be
notied by your voice assistant via a voice announcement or chime when a visitor rings, or control
the opening of the strike plate or gate with your voice.
Alexa: Go to the Alexa application and install the “Philips Door Connect” skill. Then enter the email
address of your Door Connect account and its password.
Next, if necessary, run a new device detection on your voice assistant.
Three new devices will be detected, corresponding respectively with your videophone monitor, the
electric strike plate control and the gate opening control. We strongly urge you to rename each
device in a clear manner, as you will have to specify them by voice when you want to display the
image, open the gate or open the electric strike plate.
Google Assistant: Go to the GoogleHome application and add the “Philips Door Connect”
application in the “Set up a device”/“Works with Google” section. Then enter the email address of
your Philips Door Connect account and its password.
Next, if necessary, run a new device detection on your voice assistant.
