15.1 BATTER Y PACK FOR M O NIT ORING PE N
Battery pack serves as an external power source for Monitoring Pen devices. The external battery provides power during
long-term experiments.
15.1.1 STANDARD BATTERY PACK
Standard battery pack (Fig. 32) is intended for the operation within temperature range from +10 ºC to +40 ºC. The
operating time is up to 2 years (QY measurement every 1 hour). The pack includes battery case with rechargeable sealed
lead acid battery (12Ah), charger, two types of cables (serial and device) and serial convertor.

Connectors of Battery Pack (Fig. 33):
FluorPen - connects the Monitoring Pen to the battery. This connection is necessary for Monitoring Pen operation and
data download, it provides power to the Monitoring Pen.
Serial - enables communication between Monitoring Pen and PC for control and data download.
Charger - allows for charging of the battery.
Please note that Monitoring Pen devices equipped with battery pack do not have internal battery,
therefore it is not possible to use them without the battery pack.
