8. The rear gas tank is now accessible for removal.
Remove the the bolt at the front of the tank that
secures the tank to the frame.

9. For rear rack installation reverse the steps for
disassembly. Refer to the torque specifications
provided in the photos for assembly.
REAR BRUSHGUARD
REMOVAL/INST

The rear brushguard can be removed in two ways;
with the rear top rack already removed or with the top
rack installed.
Follow the steps that suit your situation for removal.
Rear Top Rack Already Removed
1. If you have already removed the rear top rack,
proceed with removing the rear brushguard to
main frame bolts (A) on each side.

Reassembly: 18 ft.lbs. (24 Nm)
2. For reassembly of the rear brushguard, reinstall
the two bolts and torque as shown in photo.
Rear Top Rack Installed
1. If the rear top rack is installed; first remove the
rack to main frame bolts (A) located under the
rack (each side).
A
Reassembly: 18 ft.lbs. (24 Nm)
2. Remove the the rear brushguard to main frame
bolts (B) (each side).
Reassembly: 18 ft.lbs. (24 Nm)

3. Disconnect the rear taillight wiring connector.
4. Remove the two bolts (D) that secure the top rack
to the frame.
14--16 ft.lbs. (19--22 Nm) for Reassembly
D
Reassembly: 14--16 ft.lbs. (19--22 Nm)
